2021 La Vie Picardan
Picardan was a popular blending grape in France in the 1700s, but proved to have low resistance to diseases and became very rare. The grape caught the intrigue of Steve and Cindy Newsom Vineyards. From the Rhone Valley of France to the windy elevations of the Texas High Plains, Picardan is the result of the very best in experimentation in grape growing and wine making.
Aromas of apricot, pear and green apple highlight this light bodied wine. Pale straw in color, the 2021 vintage also delivers hints of tropical fruit. Delicious on its own, or pair with light meats and fish, with savory spices.
Aged in stainless steel for about 6 months, the 2021 Picardan saw normal, primary fermentation only. The grapes are from the Steve and Cindy Newsom Vineyards.
