2023 La Vie Syrah
Originating in the Rhône Valley of France, Syrah was often used for blending. It is one of the deepest colored grapes with thick skins and balanced acidity. In the late 1980s, Syrah started gaining in popularity, resulting in Syrah grape plantings increasing by several hundred percent over a 10-20 year period.
This full-bodied wine is deep purple in color with beautiful blueberry aromas that linger on the tongue in a long finish. Enjoy juicy hints of blackberry and dark plums, with toasty notes and a touch of tobacco. Pairs well with darker meats, such as lamb and steak. Try with boldly spiced pork. Excellent with fatty cheeses, and chocolate desserts. Grapes are from Reddy Vineyards in the Texas High Plains.
