Touriga Nacional is originally from Portugal, widely considered to be one of the Douro region’s finest grapes. With small berries, it is a concentrated wine, with pronounced fruits, and bold tannins. In Portugal, it is most often used for blending port, however it is an impressive single varietal, dry red wine. A deep, bold wine, with excellent aging potential.
The 2025 Touriga Nacional is full-bodied and deep purple in color with beautiful aromatics of black fruit and lavender. Blackberries and plums tease your palate, with flavors of Bergamot, blueberries and wet rocks. 100% American oak aging enhances notes of mint, vanilla and spice. This wine pairs well with rich, fatty meats, cheeses and sauces. Try with Thai coconut dishes, beef stroganoff, or roasted vegetables. Grapes are from Reddy Vineyards in the Texas High Plains.
