2019 La Vie Mourvèdre
A red variety most common in Southern Spain and the Rhône and Provence regions of France. This variety enjoys the sunny, dry climate of the Texas High Plains. With pleasing versatility, it is a favorite pairing wine on the La Vie Estate.
This bold, light to medium-bodied Rhône varietal is light ruby in color with earthy undertones of warm cherries, blackberries and a hint of oak. Pair with seared beef tenderloin, red fish such as tuna or salmon, oyster mushrooms, or smoked cheeses.
2019 Mourvèdre is from Steve and Cindy Newsom Vineyards, 50% stainless steel aged, 35% aged in neutral French oak barrels, 15% aged in new French oak barrels. This wine was put through both primary and secondary fermentation.
