Tramonto Rouge is a Super Tuscan style red wine blend. Super Tuscan wines came about in the 1970s, designating blends that began with Italian grapes and often added Bordeaux or other varietals to enhance their complexity and depth. Super Tuscans were first designated as "table wines" and thought to be of lesser quality. It was quickly discovered however, this was not the case. Super Tuscans became known as superior wines, frequently sought after. Grapes are from Reddy Vineyards.
Tramonto Rouge is a Super Tuscan style red wine blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Tramonto Rouge is ruby in color, with aromas of strawberries and Herbes de Provence. Flavors of cloves and dried orange peel playfully dance on your palate. Like sunset after a beautiful rain, wet soil and wood shavings linger on the finish. Try with gamey meats, roasted vegetables, and truffle cheeses.
