2022 La Vie Viognier
Viognier (“Vee-own-yay”) originated in Southern France. It is a full-bodied white wine, appreciated for its stone fruit and floral aromas, perhaps a little tropical in warmer regions. Viognier has quickly become a very popular white grape in our Texas climates. While very common in the Rhone Valley, it is also found in North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, and parts of South Africa.
Looking to deliver something different, the 2022 La Vie Viognier was aged with lightly toasted French oak for 3 months, providing a full, creamy mouth feel. Aromas of melons, guava and tropical fruits greet your palate, topped with hints of vanilla and coconut. Viognier pairs well with chicken and pork, particularly with a fruit component, and with seafood dishes with a bit of heft and spice for oaked Viogniers.
The grapes are from the Steve and Cindy Newsom Vineyards.
